European Migration Policy, What is it ?

Researchers and civil society actors specialised in migration issues and non-formal education have come together to share with you a unique experience to learn more about European migration policy!
Target :
Youngsters from 16 to 30 years old
Duration :
6-7 hours (can be divided into 3 sessions) *This workshop can be carried out in one day or divided into three 1h30 sections (without considering the time needed for the introduction, ice-breaking exercises, energisers, breaks, debriefing and evaluation)
- Realize the diversity/plurality of migration causes and journeys
- Establish a common base to understand the articulation between European institutions and Member-States (and their respective responsibilities)
- Get tooled against migration prejudice and get involved into action, understand the impact of mediatisation
Pedagogical Objectives
- Establish a common vocabulary about migration
- Reflect on the attraction factors (“push”) and repulsion factors (“pull”), reflect on the diversity of the migration process
- Understand migration policy in the EU and on a national level
- Deconstruct and rebuild the dominant speech on migration
- Encourage youth involvement
- Realize the diversity/plurality of migration causes and journeys
- Establish a common base to understand the articulation between European institutions and Member-States (and their respective responsibilities)
- Get tooled against migration prejudice and get involved into action, understand the impact of mediatisation
